  1. The ruler finds great delight in your power, O God; he will celebrate with much enthusiasm because you saved him!
  2. You have granted him what he truly wished for, and you didn't hold back anything he asked for out loud.
  3. Indeed, you greeted him with an abundance of good things; you placed a shining gold crown right on his head.
  4. He requested a long life from you, and you gave it to him—indeed, a lifetime that stretches on indefinitely.
  5. He is highly respected because of your deliverance; you have covered him with honor and a powerful presence.
  6. For you have made him incredibly fortunate, always; you have filled him with extreme happiness just by being present with him.
  7. This is because the king puts his trust completely in the LORD, and due to the kindness of the Almighty God, he will remain secure and unshaken.
  8. Your powerful hand will track down every single one of your opponents; your mighty right hand will discover all those who despise you.
  9. When you are angry, you will turn them into a blazing inferno; the LORD will completely consume them in His fury, and fire will utterly destroy them.
  10. You will wipe out their descendants from the planet, and their future generations will vanish from among humanity.
  11. Because they planned to do bad things to you, and thought up harmful schemes that they couldn't actually accomplish.
  12. So you will make them run away, turning their backs, as you prepare your arrows on the bowstring, aimed directly at them.
  13. May you be lifted high, LORD, through your own mighty strength; then we will sing and celebrate your incredible power.
