Song of Solomon

The Song of Solomon, often called the Song of Songs, is a unique collection of lyrical poems found in the Hebrew Bible. It beautifully portrays the passionate and intimate love between a young woman and her beloved. Through a series of dialogues, dreams, and descriptions, the book celebrates the profound beauty, desire, and delight found in romantic affection and the sacred bond of marriage. While often interpreted literally as a love story between King Solomon and a Shulamite woman, it has also been understood allegorically to represent God’s love for Israel or Christ’s love for the Church, emphasizing devotion, longing, and mutual admiration within a loving relationship.
