Chapter Summary
Psalm 54 is a desperate plea from David to God for rescue from his enemies. He describes these enemies as hostile strangers and ruthless bullies who show no respect for God. David expresses his strong conviction that God is his faithful helper and protector. He asks God to turn the evil intentions of his adversaries back on them and promises to offer joyful sacrifices of thanksgiving and praise once God delivers him.
